Healthy Living 

Join our 12-week healthy living program for young adults with intellectual disability which covers aspects of making healthy lifestyle choices. The course will include learning sessions, personal training/exercise, sessions on healthy food choices and cooking. It will be held one day per week (Thursday) from 9am – 4pm over 12 weeks.

What the program will cover

Learning Sessions and Personal Training

Our training session will be run by ONE PTS, who will bring to life for us a combination of theory and training around healthy living. It will be a 90-minute session broken into 30-45 minutes of theory, followed by personal training and exercise. Over the 12 weeks we will cover:

  • Fundamentals of training
  • Psychology - Motivation, Goal Setting, Training with purpose
  • Advanced training: how to do new things
  • Nutrition/ Healthy Meals
  • Concepts of recovery - sleep, mobility, muscle release, stretching
  • Teamwork - relationships, understanding roles
  • Attitude, stress and dealing with external factors, mental well being
  • Responsibilities/accountability
  • Handling adversity
  • Dealing with emergencies

Diet and Cooking Sessions:

Throughout the day we will be running our diet and nutrition program, learning about healthy food choices, and how to prepare healthy meals.

These sessions will take advantage of our state-of-the-art hospitality teaching space, where participants will discover new recipes and prepare healthy meals.


We are an NDIS provider, so you can choose to use your NDIS funding with us. Alternatively, you can pay a fee to attend all or part of the day. Get in touch with us to find out more. 


The personal training sessions will be held both on campus at Mater Dei Camden and at the ONE PTS gym in Padstow. We will provide transport for all participants between Mater Dei and Padstow. We can provide transport to and from your home to Mater Dei if required.
