Assessment & Therapy with Adults

Often adults with learning needs have extensive assessment and therapy as a child. All too often this ceases in the adolescent years, even though the young person could continue to benefit. It may have been because attending therapy became a battle, because it was difficult to find the right fit, or simply because the young person became tired of the commitment.

At NextPath we aim to provide assessment and therapy for a purpose. This might be to:

  • Achieve a life goal such as gaining employment or participating in an activity in the community;
  • Gain a greater understanding of a adults' strengths and areas for improvement;
  • Provide a service that specialises in collaborating with adults and their supporters;
  • Provide opportunities for adults to practice the skills they are developing in real life situations.

The therapies we offer include:

  • Speech pathology to help young people improve their talking and listening skills so they can participate fully in their community.
  • Occupational therapy to help adults to develop capacity and independence to engage in meaningful activities in their daily lives.
  • Recreation therapy to help adults engage in leisure activities they enjoy to maintain and promote their physical, social and emotional well-being.

Our team is growing, so please contact us if you are seeking other therapies.

As we are a registered NDIS provider, you can use funding from your NDIS plan with us. We are also open to considering other funding sources, and this would be discussed at your initial meeting.
