Meet our Speech Pathologists

Elizabeth McLoon

Senior Speech Pathologist (Maternity Leave)

I studied a Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) at the University of Sydney. I started my career working in a private practice in the Southern Highlands before moving to England with my husband and working there for two and a half years. Whilst living in the UK I worked in community health with both adults and children. In my final position I worked in a team specializing in working with young children with additional needs; this is where I developed a passion for working with children with disabilities. When we moved back to Australia we moved to the Macarthur area. I started working at Mater Dei in April 2019 and have loved working with such a great team and wonderful families.

Hi, my name is Kareena. I completed a Bachelor Applied Science (Speech Pathology) from The University of Sydney. I graduated in 2011 and began my career working in both paediatrics and adults, but found my passion was for working with children with disabilities. I worked as a Speech Pathologist with children and their families in a variety of settings, including not-for-profit ADAHC funded services, private practice and now here at NextPath Assessment & Therapy. I joined NextPath in 2020 as I was seeking a change of setting, NextPath was in my local area and I had also heard many positive stories and achievements made by the Mater Dei/NextPath team. Brishty Regmi

Speech Pathologist

Hi, I'm Brishty. I studied the Bachelor of Applied Science (Speech Pathology) Honours at the University of Sydney and graduated in 2020. In 2021, I wanted experience in the academic field, so I worked as a Research Assistant. I missed working with clients and was really interested in working with people with disabilities, so I looked for a supportive team to join. I heard about an opening at NextPath from a friend and colleague of mine and was lucky enough to be offered a position here!

Fun Fact: Over the past few years I’ve had about 10 (maybe more) different colours in my hair! Bonus fact: I developed an allergy to Ramen after eating too much (I once ended up in hospital in Thailand on the day of my flight because of this).

- Favourite Food? Ramen…(obviously)

- Dream Holiday destination? I want to go everywhere but first on my list is Japan!

- If you could be any animal, which animal would you be? A panda for sure.

- Childhood nickname? My primary school principal once called me Bruce-Lee (he actually thought that was my name) and it stuck.

- Favourite TV show? It would have to be a toss-up between Friends and Brooklyn 99.

- If you won the lottery, what is the first thing you would do? Pinch myself because I’m probably dreaming!

- Rate your Karaoke skills 1-10. What is your go-to song? A strong -8. But if anyone is brave enough to listen to me sing it would be ‘I want it that way’ by the Backstreet Boys.
